Another one for the books! Exciting 3:1 victory against Lohne

Mannschaftsbild TV Eiche Horn

After recovering from our hard-fought 3:2 win in Braunschweig, we were determined to keep our winning streak as we set out for Lohne on 07.12.24.

Starting off with a bang (literally)

In typical German fashion, we arrived a little too early and the gym was still locked. However, after pounding on the backdoors, we were reluctantly let inside by some young (and slightly scared) handball players. It was time to get started! The first set was smooth sailing. Lohne was giving up quite a few free points due to net violations and missed serves. Though we fumbled some points at the end, we still conceded the set with a 25:18 win on the scoreboard.

Trouble in Paradise

When the second set came around, Lohne was hungry to redeem themselves, and we made the mistake of getting a little too comfortable. They started to clean up their errors, and got some good plays in on us along with a handfull detrimental serving streaks. We began fighting back a little too late, and lost a tight match at 23:25.

Redemption

Lohne didnt make the third set easy on us. Now, both teams were hungry and had something to prove. We came back with a 25:21 win, and knew we wanted to make the fourth set our last. With fast plays, serving runs, and lots of hustling on both sides, it was close up until the end. Ultimately, we brought the heat and came out on top with 25:22, securing our seventh win of the season.

Hanna Laukrötter was our raining Golden MVP, nominated for the second time in a row due to her magical hands and beautiful ball distribution. Congratulations!

With another victory under our wings, we look forward to our last (and most festive) home game of 2024 on Saturday 14.12. against Tuspo Weende. The gym will be filled with Christmas vibes, baked goods, and even Glühwein. We expect a strong match and we hope to see you there!
